Royal Scots Dragoon Guards Regimental Association
As Secretary of the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards Regimental Association I was immensely proud to see our Edinburgh Branch march to their annual Service of Remembrance behind The Pryde of East Lothian Pipe Band. Our old soldiers had a distinct swagger to their marching and their heads were held high. This together with the hundreds of spectators who paused to watch the parade and service was down to the participation of the band. I was honoured to be asked to say a few words to the assembled members of the band after the service. I told them.
"I was massively impressed with your turnout, discipline and standard of play". Having spent 31 years in the Scottish Infantry I have marched behind many Pipes and Drums and I can say in all honestly that The Pryde of East Lothian are up there with the best of them.
I also engaged one of their pipers to play at an Officers dinner night in Edinburgh Castle a few weeks ago and the feed back from those who attended was outstanding.
Anyone asking me to recommend a Pipes and Drums or indeed individual pipers will be immediately given the contact details for The Pryde of East Lothian Pipes and Drums.

I organised the piping for my wedding in July 2011 through the Pryde of East Lothian Pipes and Drums. From the outset they where helpful and courteous giving me plenty of suggestions for potential tunes to be played throughout the day. They where very receptive to any suggestions that I had (including the supplied piper playing the Top Gun Theme for me an my husband to enter our wedding breakfast too!) and was open to changes at the last minute (as it is every Bride's prerogative!).
Overall the piping on my wedding day was fantastic. The piper look both fantastic and played fantastically which especially impressed our English guests. We were even allowed to borrow the ceremonial dirk for the cutting of the wedding cake!
I would highly recommend The Pryde of East Lothian Pipes and Drums.

Brett and I would like to thank the Pryde of East Lothian Pipes and Drums for the outstanding performance at our wedding in Lennoxlove House, Haddington, Sept 2011. We had guests from all over the world and they were truly blown away by the performance of all who took part, from the lone piper leading everyone from the 'Great Hall' outside to view the whole band and the dancers was very special, the young piper did a fabulous job!
The coordination of the band and dancers with the fireworks made it a truly memorable experience for all and will stay as a very special memory for Brett and I.
We would highly recommend the Pryde of East Lothian Pipes and Drums for future/similar events, their performance and professionalism were second to none.
Brett and I would like to thank you all personally for helping to create an extremely memorable experience for us and our guests.

On behalf of the Peebles Beltane Committee I would like to thank Pipe Major Colin Pryde and the members of Pryde of East Lothian Pipe Band for their first class performance 'Beating Retreat' at Peebles Beltane Festival along with the Exchange Communications Whitburn Silver Band. The young band is a credit to all concerned and their dress and deportment top order. The band played a variety of music including a drummers call which was very much appreciated by all. The band dancers added an additional dimension to the performance and much public positive comment has been received.
On an organisational note it is pleasing to work with a band that is keen to help, Colin Pryde worked with the Iain Fleming of Whitburn Band to make the performance one to remember, and it was. Congratulations to both bands.
I can recomend booking Pryde of East Lothian Pipe Band for your special occasion, a very smart young band who obviously work hard to achieve the best and it shows.
David Turnbull. Joint Secretary, Peebles Beltane Festival Committee.
As a spectator at the Peebles Beltane 2011, I feel I must comment on the band's appearance and playing. I've been present at this event for many, many years but I have to say none has been as enjoyable as this years. You didn't just play the music, you presented it in a novel way. It was very professional and classy. The discipline of the mainly young band was outstanding and the smartness of your uniforms is a credit to East Lothian. And there were, of course, the Highland Dancers as icing on the cake!!
This event is timed to last for 30mins but the 60mins just flew by.
Thanks again and hope you make a return sometime.
Kenneth Simpson, Spectator Beltane 2011
Many, many thanks to the Pryde of East Lothian Pipes and Drums for supporting our 2011 Wits Dinner event. The feedback from our guests has been fantastic, they were all very impressed with the skill of the piper provided. I would happily recommend the Pryde of East Lothian Pipes and Drums to anyone needing a piper for their event – well turned out, arrived on time and extremely reliable! Hope to have you again at the 2012 Wits Dinner!”
