As they say “the competition season will be here before you know it” well it’s here now ! and what a great start we’ve had too !The band entered its first RSPBA competition of 2012 by competing in the Lothian and Borders Branch indoor solos and mini bands which this year were held in Livingston instead of Peebles. We had an early rise (05:00am for me) and drove through the early morning fog to get there but it was well worth it.The band came 2nd in the Grade 4a mini bands (1st for drumming) and we had some great results for our solo players too.

Charley Rafferty 1st place in the Under 14 solo snare drumming section.

Alan Jordan 2nd place Adult Tenor drumming Solo and Michaela Rafferty came 3rd in the aged 15 to 18 Tenor Drumming solo.

Nick Hufstetler our band secretary came in at 3rd place in the over 18 solo piping category.

Some of our other solo players just fell short of making it into the prize list so keep up the fantastic work guys your doing great.

Our next competition is 12th May at Dunbar with the full band which will include some of the newer band members making their debut with us. We hope to see you there and appreciate your support.

This is the video which was included in our application to take part in the Malta Military Tattoo 2012 (and secured our place in the Tattoo). A note of thanks must be given to Andrew Bissell, our Band President, who filmed alot of it and also edited it together. I hope you enjoy it! A Couple of Website Updates etc

Just a short note to tell you about a few website updates:

1.) You will notice the music player has changed on the right hand side of the website, this has changed so it is non-flash based player and therefore should work on non-flash supported browsers such as the Iphone/Ipad’s Safari Browser. (Hopefully making it more useful!)

2.) Our Facebook Fanpage has reached a 100 likes (103 as you can see from the top of the site!), well done to all those that are promoting the Pryde, you are doing a great job and I hope to see many more “likes” on our fan page in the future.
